Ingredients
  

For the Shrimp
  • 1 pound shrimp Fresh or frozen (thawed)
  • 1 cup buttermilk Can substitute regular milk mixed with vinegar
  • 1 cup flour Gluten-free flour can be used
  • 2 teaspoons paprika Use smoked paprika for extra flavor
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Fresh minced garlic can be used
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder Optional
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper Adjust for spice preference
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs Regular breadcrumbs can replace if needed
For the Bang Bang Sauce
  • 1 cup mayonnaise Vegan mayo can be used
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce Look for sugar-free options
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha Adjust according to taste
For Assembling Tacos
  • 8 pieces tortillas Use warm corn or regular tortillas
  • 2 cups cabbage Shredded, optional to replace with lettuce
  • 1 medium avocado Substitute with guacamole if desired

Method
 

Steps
  1. Soak the shrimp in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Combine flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper in a bowl.
  3. Remove shrimp from buttermilk, dredge in flour mix, dip back in buttermilk, then coat with panko.
  4. Heat oil in a skillet to 350°F (175°C) and fry shrimp for 2-3 minutes on each side.
  5. Whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and sriracha for the Bang Bang sauce.
  6. Warm tortillas, add cabbage, crispy shrimp, and drizzle with Bang Bang sauce.
  7. Serve tacos with lime wedges on the side.
