Step-by-Step Instructions for Bubba’s Crab Stew
  1. Finely chop fennel, celery, and yellow onion and set aside.
  2. Melt butter in a large saucepan. Sauté chopped vegetables for 5-7 minutes until soft.
  3. Sprinkle in self-rising flour and stir continuously for 8-10 minutes until bubbling.
  4. Gradually pour in crab base, heavy cream, cooking sherry, half-and-half, and whole milk. Stir and bring to a boil.
