Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Thaw and roll out the puff pastry into a rectangle, ensuring it's about 1/8 inch thick.
- Layer the eight slices of ham over one half of the pastry, and spread Dijon mustard if desired.
- Place cheese slices over the ham, fold the pastry, and seal the edges.
- Use a fork to crimp the edges of the pastry.
- Brush the top of the assembled pastry with beaten egg for a shiny finish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow to cool for 5 minutes, then slice into bite-sized pieces.
