Puff Pastry Stacks
  • 1 sheet Puff Pastry Butter-based for best results
  • 8 slices Ham Thinly sliced Black Forest or Virginia ham
  • 8 slices Cheese Cheddar, Swiss, or Gruyère
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon Mustard Optional for a zesty kick
  • 1 whole Egg Beaten for egg wash
  • Flour For dusting

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Thaw and roll out the puff pastry into a rectangle, ensuring it's about 1/8 inch thick.
  3. Layer the eight slices of ham over one half of the pastry, and spread Dijon mustard if desired.
  4. Place cheese slices over the ham, fold the pastry, and seal the edges.
  5. Use a fork to crimp the edges of the pastry.
  6. Brush the top of the assembled pastry with beaten egg for a shiny finish.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool for 5 minutes, then slice into bite-sized pieces.
