Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large skillet or wok, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers. This should take about 1-2 minutes.
  2. Add 3 cups of fresh broccoli florets to the hot oil, stirring frequently for 3-4 minutes. Cook until the broccoli turns vibrant green and is crisp-tender.
  3. In the same skillet, add 1 pound of ground beef along with 2 minced garlic cloves. Cook for about 5-6 minutes while breaking the meat into smaller pieces.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together 3 tablespoons soy sauce, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil, 1 tablespoon grated ginger, and ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes.
  5. Pour the prepared sauce into the skillet with the browned beef, stirring to coat the meat evenly. Let it cook for about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Return the sautéed broccoli to the skillet, tossing everything together gently to combine thoroughly. Cook for an additional minute.
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and black pepper if needed, then remove from heat. Serve over rice or noodles.
