Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Melt the butter and sugar in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, stirring constantly until smooth and bubbly, about 3-4 minutes.
  2. Add jumbo marshmallows and continue to cook over medium-low heat, stirring frequently for about 5-7 minutes until melted and smooth.
  3. Pour the marshmallow mixture over pre-popped popcorn in a large bowl and fold gently to coat.
  4. Allow the mixture to cool for about 5-10 minutes at room temperature.
  5. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly grease your hands to prevent sticking.
  6. Form the mixture into balls, about the size of a golf ball, and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Melt the red, white, and blue candy melts in separate bowls according to package instructions.
  8. Transfer melted candy to piping bags and drizzle over popcorn balls in fun patterns.
  9. Let the decorated popcorn balls sit at room temperature until candy melts are fully set.
