Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare two 9-inch round cake pans by greasing with butter and dusting with cocoa powder.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, and baking powder until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, beat the eggs, vegetable oil, and milk until frothy before combining with dry ingredients.
  4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry mixture and stir until just combined.
  5. Divide the batter between the prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. After baking, cool the cakes in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.

  8. Layer the cake by spreading mousse between and on top of the cooled cake layers.
  9. Let the assembled cake chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.
