Step-by-Step Instructions for Easy Saag Aloo
  1. Prepare the ingredients by peeling and dicing the potatoes, and washing and chopping the spinach.
  2. Heat the oil in a medium-sized pan over medium heat and sauté the cumin seeds.
  3. Cook the chopped onion until golden and caramelized.
  4. Add minced garlic and grated ginger to the pan and cook until fragrant.
  5. Incorporate diced potatoes into the mixture and cook for about 5 minutes.
  6. Add the turmeric, coriander powder, and salt, mixing well.
  7. Pour in water and simmer until the potatoes are fork-tender.
  8. Stir in the chopped spinach and cook until wilted.
  9. Finish with garam masala before serving.
  10. Optionally, squeeze fresh lemon juice over the dish before serving.
