Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by chopping 3-4 cloves of fresh garlic and measure out your hoisin sauce, about 1 cup. Trim chicken thighs or breasts and prep ingredients on a clean cutting board.
  2. In your Crockpot, place the chicken pieces first, then pour in the hoisin sauce and sprinkle the minced garlic over the top. Stir gently to coat the chicken evenly.
  3. Cover the Crockpot and set to low heat for 6-8 hours or high heat for 3-4 hours until the chicken reaches 165°F (75°C).
  4. Once cooking is complete, carefully shred the chicken directly in the pot using two forks, mixing it into the hoisin sauce.
  5. Serve the tender hoisin chicken over your choice of cooked rice, noodles, or steamed vegetables, garnished with green onions or sesame seeds.
