  • 8 ounces Linguine
  • 1 tablespoon Salt for water
For the Seafood
  • 1 pound Shrimp deveined and peeled
  • 1 pound Mussels cleaned and debearded
For the Sauce
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 medium Shallot finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil extra virgin
  • 1/2 cup White Wine or substitute with broth and lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon Juice freshly squeezed
For Garnishing
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Parsley chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes optional
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black Pepper

Method
 

Cooking Steps
  1. Cook the pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and chopped shallots, sauté for about 2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Pour in white wine and simmer for 2-3 minutes until reduced slightly.
  4. Add mussels to the skillet, cover with a lid, and steam for about 5-6 minutes until they open.
  5. Stir in the deveined shrimp and cook for another 3-4 minutes until they turn pink.
  6. Toss in the reserved linguine, pasta water, lemon juice, and parsley over low heat.
  7. Serve immediately, garnished with parsley, black pepper, and lemon wedges.
