Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prep your green beans based on your choice—blanch fresh beans in boiling salted water for 3-4 minutes, drain them. Thaw and drain frozen beans, or thoroughly drain canned beans.
  2. Preheat your oven to 350°F or your air fryer, ensuring even baking for a bubbly golden top.
  3. Mix together one can of condensed cream of mushroom soup, 3/4 cup of whole milk, and 1 teaspoon of soy sauce in a medium bowl until smooth.
  4. Add the prepared green beans to the sauce, sprinkle in 2/3 cup of crispy fried onions and ground black pepper, fold gently to coat.
  5. Pour the green bean mixture into a 9x9-inch baking dish and spread evenly. Bake for about 25 minutes until bubbly.
  6. After 25 minutes, stir the casserole and top with reserved crispy fried onions. Return to the oven for another 5 minutes to brown the onions.
