- Prep your green beans based on your choice—blanch fresh beans in boiling salted water for 3-4 minutes, drain them. Thaw and drain frozen beans, or thoroughly drain canned beans.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F or your air fryer, ensuring even baking for a bubbly golden top.
- Mix together one can of condensed cream of mushroom soup, 3/4 cup of whole milk, and 1 teaspoon of soy sauce in a medium bowl until smooth.
- Add the prepared green beans to the sauce, sprinkle in 2/3 cup of crispy fried onions and ground black pepper, fold gently to coat.
- Pour the green bean mixture into a 9x9-inch baking dish and spread evenly. Bake for about 25 minutes until bubbly.
- After 25 minutes, stir the casserole and top with reserved crispy fried onions. Return to the oven for another 5 minutes to brown the onions.
