Preparation
- Roll out your chilled pie crust to a 12-inch circle, fit it into a 9-inch pie plate, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- In a medium bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and fine sea salt. Pour in melted unsalted butter and mix until resembling coarse crumbs.
- In a large bowl, toss sliced apples with lemon juice. In another bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, all-purpose flour, fine sea salt, and ground cinnamon. Sprinkle over apples and stir to coat.
- Fill the chilled pie crust with the apple mixture, leaving excess juice behind. Distribute the crumb topping over the apples, clumping slightly.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake for 20 minutes, then reduce temperature to 375°F (190°C) and bake for another 35-40 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
- Let the pie cool on a wire rack for at least 4 hours before serving.
