  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter melted

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 2 cups of self-rising flour, 1 tablespoon of sugar, and 1 teaspoon of kosher salt.
  3. Add ½ cup of cold, cubed unsalted butter into your flour mixture and work it until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Gradually pour in ¾ cup of cold buttermilk and stir gently until just combined.
  5. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and pat into a rectangle about 1-inch thick, then cut out the biscuits.
  6. Place the cut biscuits close together on a baking sheet and brush with melted butter.
  7. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Serve warm with butter or your favorite jams.
