Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, beat together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and creamy.
  4. Add the beaten egg and vanilla extract to the butter and sugar mixture, mixing until smooth.
  5. Gradually fold the dry mixture into the wet ingredients, stirring until a cohesive dough forms.
  6. Scoop out dough balls, about 2 to 3 tablespoons each, and place onto the baking sheet, spacing them 2–3 inches apart.
  7. Bake the cookies for 10–12 minutes until lightly browned around the edges.
  8. Press nine pastel M&Ms into each cookie immediately after baking.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  10. Serve warm or store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.
