Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Start by washing and chopping your bell peppers into bite-sized pieces, and dicing half an onion. Mince 2-3 cloves of garlic.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef, cooking it until well browned, about 6-8 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  3. Once your beef is cooked, toss in the diced onion, minced garlic, and chopped bell peppers. Sauté for about 5 minutes until softened.
  4. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, uncooked rice, and spices. Ensure the rice is evenly coated and flavors are well combined.
  5. Pour in enough water or broth to cover the mixture. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and cover, simmer for about 20 minutes.
  6. Once rice is tender and mixture is thickened, fluff it gently with a fork. Optionally, sprinkle cheese on top before serving.
