Ingredients

For the Sauce
  • ½ cup unsalted butter Feel free to use salted butter for an extra savory kick.
  • 5 cloves garlic (minced) Fresh garlic is key for that unbeatable flavor.
  • 1 tbsp spicy chili garlic sauce Adjust based on your spice tolerance.
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika Use regular paprika for a milder taste.
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper (optional) Omit if you prefer a gentler flavor.
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice Freshly squeezed juice is the best choice.
  • 1 tsp honey (optional) Substitute with sugar or maple syrup if desired.
  • salt and black pepper Essential for seasoning; adjust to taste.
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped for garnish) Feel free to omit if you're in a hurry.

Equipment

  • small saucepan

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a small saucepan, place ½ cup of unsalted butter over medium heat. Allow it to melt gradually, watching for slight bubbling. This should take about 3-5 minutes. Ensure the butter doesn't brown.
  2. Once the butter has melted, add 5 minced garlic cloves. Stir continuously for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant and opaque, avoiding browning.
  3. Stir in 1 tablespoon of spicy chili garlic sauce, ½ teaspoon of smoked paprika, and ¼ teaspoon of cayenne pepper, if using. Sprinkle in salt and black pepper to taste. Mix well and heat for about 1 minute.
  4. Lower heat to a gentle simmer, then add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and 1 teaspoon of honey. Stir and allow to simmer for 1-2 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and transfer to a serving dish. Garnish with 1 tablespoon of chopped fresh parsley. Serve warm.
