For the Sauce
  • 3 tablespoons Soy Sauce Opt for tamari for gluten-free
  • 1 teaspoon Chili Flakes Adjust for your heat preference
  • 1 tablespoon Brown Sugar Honey can be an alternative
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Oil Olive oil changes flavor
For Cooking and Serving
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil For sautéing veggies
  • 4 cups Steamed White Rice Try brown or cauliflower rice

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Wash and chop all your vegetables: broccoli, bell pepper, zucchini, and mushrooms. Mince the garlic and measure out your soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, and chili flakes.
Cook Beef
  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add sesame oil. Sauté garlic for 30 seconds. Add ground beef, breaking it up as it cooks until browned, about 5 to 7 minutes. Stir in soy sauce, chili flakes, and brown sugar; simmer for 2 minutes.
Sauté Veggies
  1. In another pan, heat olive oil. Add minced garlic for 30 seconds, add mushrooms, and cook for 2 minutes. Then add broccoli, bell pepper, and zucchini, stir-fry for 4 to 5 minutes. Drizzle with soy sauce.
Assemble Bowl
  1. Place steamed rice in a bowl, top with ground beef mixture, then sautéed veggies. Drizzle with any leftover sauce from the skillet.
